Kuya Peru was born in Lima in 2007, founded by jewelry designer and artist Diego Candela. With a background in business administration and experience in some of Peru’s most renowned companies, Diego always felt a deeper calling—one rooted in art, culture, and expression.
That calling became clear while traveling through the Andean highlands, where he discovered an ancient Incan technique: the delicate weaving of fine gold and silver threads into enduring, intricate jewelry. Inspired by this ancestral craftsmanship, Diego immersed himself in its study, ultimately reimagining the method with his own artistic vision.

At Kuya, we craft each piece exclusively with 999 fine silver—a precious metal that is 99.99% pure. Free from alloys and other metals, this level of purity allows the silver to remain soft and malleable, making it perfect for weaving into the delicate threads that define our signature style
Stone
Every stone we use is natural and precious, hand-selected for its quality and character. Harvested from the Andean highlands of Peru, these gems carry the essence of the land—rich in color, culture, and tradition. We never use synthetic or glass imitations. Only nature’s own treasures become part of a Kuya piece.
